Abraham Cohen,

CMT

CAMTC Certification #99275

Abraham is a lifelong student of the body on all its levels who integrates passions for anatomy & physiology, healing arts, and insight philosophy & practice into his/their approach to bodywork. Whether you are looking to improve your posture & movement, facing an acute injury or chronic condition, exploring your relationship with your own embodied experiences, navigating pregnancy and postpartum, or in need of relaxation & stress reduction, Abraham will meet you where you are.

Abraham brings a diversity of lived experience to bear in connecting personally with clients and developing a multidimensional understanding of whatever they bring into the collaborative experience of manual therapy. At the heart of Abraham’s bodywork practice is a focus on listening touch: just as a talk therapist develops caring listening skills to support clients through verbal conversation, Abraham employs skills of intuitive touch to actively listen to——and be guided by——what clients’ bodies have to share.

Abraham’s professional background includes emergency medicine, labor in the trades and service industries, musical performance, and a career as a commercial fisher. Through a lens ground by these experiences, Abraham has a nuanced view of how life impacts a wide range of folx. He takes a non-judgmental, trauma-informed, LGBTQIA2S+ safe, adaptable approach to tailoring a range of manual therapeutics to the needs of each individual.
